Students at Realms are given the opportunity to participate in project- based learning throughout the school year. Project-based activities help make learning meaningful and useful to students by taking them out of the classroom and connecting them with their community on a real world timetable. Here they develop relevant skills, which include the ability to work well with others, make thoughtful decisions, take initiative, solve tough problems and learn important lessons from taking chances. Projects are evaluated in a collaborative manner in which teachers/facilitators and students discuss the learning that is taking place. Some of these "outcomes" are not always what might have been expected, but that, of course, is an important real world lesson. Examples of past and current projects include:
